Does doing yoga reduce the blood sugar ?

Exercise in general does help, but it's also down to diet and also how the body reacts too. Some people can't do yoga because they are disabled, so gentle walking can help instead.

I have friends who love yoga, but people do it for lots of reasons and there are lots of types of yoga, so it can help as a form of exercise, in that respect alone, but isn't for everyone.

I'm wondering if taking CoQ10 would have an effect on blood sugar. I know that it definitely helps to reduce blood pressure. I was at 135/90 for a while, and started taking it daily and dropped to around 118/78 on average.

Yoga does indeed aid in stabilizing blood glucose. Many of the postures help gently urge the body to find homeostasis. Yoga is also a low impact aerobic exercise, meaning that your heart rate goes up a little, your body produces a correct amount of insulin, and your muscles burn up the blood sugar for fuel over a period of time.

As someone else mentioned, walking has the same effect.

Different types of yoga do have different effects. Hatha and Iyengar yoga are the best for those with diabetes, but if you can tolerate heat and humidity, then bikram (hot) yoga or power yoga is fantastic for the body.
