Thanks for this piece of information. My partner suffers from ED and it has had a strain on our relationship. When I read this post he has all the reason listed, diabetes, depression, drinks and is over the age of 50. I have been trying to talk him into going to see a doctor about it but he refuses. I think he had a problem with admitting it and he is embarrassed to bring it up. In the mean time our relationship is suffering because of it.
This is a very informative post. To be honest, I didn't even know that depression can lead to erectile dysfunction. But I do understand why there might be some connection since depression and erectile dysfunction can both be traced back to the brain. Maybe there are treatment options to undertake, instead of using medication first. This way, the patient won't have to resort to medicines if he doesn't want to.
But yes, some patients do really need medications. Luckily, there are lots of options out there. You only need to ask your physician about it and tell him honestly about your health conditions. Be as honest and truthful as possible so he can diagnose you correctly and at the same time, suggest possible treatment options for you.
