[[p]]For what feels like decades I have heard my niece complain about migraines. She has just turned thirty and has been asthmatic for as long as I can remember. Her headache are so intense it's difficult to even watch at times. [[p]]I have heard that sometimes migraines are closely related to asthma. How accurate is this? Can anyone shed some light?
Asthma and migraine are what is called “comorbid”. Thatmeans that individuals with each disorder has a higher than expected chance ofhaving the other. However, it does not mean that one causes the other.Thereason for this is that migraine is caused by or influenced by genes. Genes areinherited as neighborhoods. When we inherit features of one condition, iscommon to inherit genes that influence the second condition.
