Listeriosis is food poisoning caused by Listeria monocytogenes. The bacteria is found mainly in soil, water, processed foods, and unpasteurized milk. It's not really a cause for concern in healthy people, but in people with lowered immune systems and pregnant women. It's particularly concerning for pregnant women because it can cause problems with the pregnancy and delivery and even infect the baby. Symptoms are: fever and muscle aches, nausea and diarrhea and possibly headaches or a stiff neck.
