Am also wondering if I have IBS?
#1
Basically I have been having weird symptoms lately. A long while ago(over 10 years) I have my gallbladder removed due to a bile duct issue. I have been fine since but started having some pain in my upper right quadrant lately. It's the same pain I felt before the removal of my gall bladder. I was told the bile duct could act up and I could have a surgery to put a pin in and make the duct bigger...but was warned by others not to do it.

Anyhow so I was kind of looking into why I was having this pain again and came across ibs. I started reading about it and now I wonder if this is my problem? It can cause pain up in the upper right side?

I don't go to the bathroom everyday and have bouts here and there with constipation. Then I will get what I think is a stomach bug and will be crampy in my stomach and have looser stools(NOT diarrhea though).

But lately I get full pretty quick and I feel all swollen. Almost like I am bloated? When my bladder is full, I used to be able to hold it a bit and then go. But now I get crampy and it still is crampy after I go for a bit. Same thing happens after I have a bowel movement. I have also noticed I get nauseous after it too?

Your symptoms are common among IBS sufferers. My brother experiences bouts of constipation, bloating and loose stools. I experience the same from time to time but I have learned to manage IBS through diet, cutting out grains and processed foods.

Yes, that is what I figured. It seems like common symptoms. I haven't quite figured out what is going on and what foods I should be eating. I don't eat a lot of processed anyway and I eat whole grains. But something is getting me. I am going to try metamucil to try and get things regular.

My understanding is that grains will inflame the gut. I can only go by my personal experience, abstaining from grains greatly improved my condition and whenever I eat grains my symptoms are triggered once again. I'm not saying this is the solution for you, but it's worth trying nonetheless.

This does sound like IBS there is no doubt about that. However, I am not a doctor so I can't diagnose this for you anymore then you can diagnose yourself. I know from experience that having test to determine you have IBS or something else wrong with your digestive tract is no fun, but its necessary to know what is truly going on. So talk to your doctor get their input and if necessary be tested, this will tell you if you really do have IBS or if something else is wrong. Its important to know one way or another.

The bloating can definitely be causing the nauseated feeling. You should check with a gastro doctor to confirm what might be causing the bloating and other coinciding symptoms.
