Grandparents had high blood pressure
#1
I just worry that all my Grandparents that have passed had high blood pressure and I would love to know the best way to prevent that. As I get older, I think more and more about my health! Thanks :)

Your question is a bit open-ended but since you are in the diet section I'll answer that way. Are you looking for something more specific? Reducing salt intake is the most important thing to do. You can benefit from a diet high in fiber and high in antioxidants. After that, having a glass of wine every day is helpful for heart health.

More important than all of this could be looking for genetic problems. If you have a number of relatives who have died of HBP you should get yourself checked out.

Oatmeal is one of the best foods you can eat to help keep your blood pressure down. It's high in fibre, and it can help to lower blood pressure and also lower levels of 'bad' LDL cholesterol. If you want to keep your blood pressure at a healthy level through diet, it may be worth checking out the []DASH Diet[]. Also, keep to a healthy weight, as this lowers the risk of high blood pressure.
