How marijuana is beneficial for the mental disorders treatment
The medical qualities of marijuana are a questionable but undeniable issue in modern medicine. Most scientists and doctors agree that marijuana has a set of beneficial effects on particular mental conditions. According to Psychiatric Times:
Quote:Patients use cannabis for symptoms of PTSD, anxiety disorders, depression, ADHD, bipolar disorder, chronic pain, insomnia, opiate dependence, and even schizophrenia. In addition, patients use cannabis for neurological conditions such as the spasticity of multiple sclerosis, agitation in dementia, and specific seizure disorders that are unresponsive to standard therapies. Patients also use cannabis to reduce the nausea and anorexia of cancer chemotherapies and to improve their mood and outlook - frequently with their oncologist’s approval.
However, there are some side effects of weed use such as:
  • temporary hallucinations
  • temporary paranoia
  • altered sense of time
  • impaired memory
  • difficulty with thinking and problem-solving
As the NIDA states :

Quote:Marijuana use can lead to the development of a substance use disorder, a medical illness in which the person is unable to stop using even though it's causing health and social problems in their life [...] Research suggests that between 9 and 30 percent of those who use marijuana may develop some degree of marijuana use disorder.
In any case, any substance can be addictive and make hard to some extent. So, it is important always to consult with a doctor. No doubts that marijuana has positive health effects ameliorating certain symptoms. Summing up:

Quote:Actual therapeutic benefit from cannabis use for any given patient might help to minimize total psychotropic medication burden, decrease reliance on opioid analgesics, and/or decrease or eliminate alcohol use.
