constant acid taste in mouth

I have been suffering GERD for years now and have gotten used to it for the most part. The Nexium works well for me and my hopelessly boring diet means I have few episodes.

Lately, I have something new. I have a constant acidic taste in my mouth. Its not that I am unfamiliar with the taste. Its just that it seems to be there all the time.

What little pleasure I have had in my food is now not even possible. I am constantly brushing my teeth or rinsing with mouthwash, but its always there. I talked to my doctor and he couldn't suggest anything to help.

So, I am wondering if anyone else has found ways to overcome this taste?

RE: constant acid taste in mouth

I know your pain. I get regular infections and the antibiotics leave a horrible metal taste in my mouth all the while I am taking them. If it lasted a while, I would get very cranky.

I am not sure if you will get an answer on this here. The Acid Reflux forum doesn't have many people yet.
