Is rhinoplasty safe for a diabetic patient?

Hi, my father is a type 2 diabetic patient. He has been taking medicines for the past two years. Last week, he met with an accident. Thank God, his life was saved. He has some minor injuries. His nose is broken, and the doctor asked to perform a rhinoplasty surgery. Is it safe for a diabetic patient to undergo rhinoplasty surgery? I have read in a blog ( http://www.rhinoplasty.ca/2016/08/29/2367/ ) that it is perfectly alright to have this surgery if you have diabetes under control. Will the wounds take much time to heal as he is a diabetic?
