Chronic Yeast Infection Due to Water Supply

This sounds crazy, but I have been very sensitive my whole life. I moved to a new location and for two years straight, I had yeast infections. I changed my soap, detergent, shampoo, diet, everything. Then I moved and the yeast went away.

I immediately thought perhaps it was the water. I get the usual infection with anti-biotics, but nothing as bad as what I had. Then I went to visit a friend who lived on a military base. Guess what? Yeast.

Every time I went to somewhere with well water, hard water, or was near a military base, I got yeast. I have even tested positive for yeast infections when I had no symptoms, and was shocked when the doctor told me.

When I travel now, I buy bottled water to bathe and drink. Good luck, I hope this helps.

Well I have to admit it does get you thinking. Sounds weird but these days nothing surprises me when it comes to the human body. Perhaps I need to relocate with some of my friends who seem to be doomed to a life of yeast infections. I paused and did a quick search to see if I could find anything related to yeast infections due to water supply and came up empty handed.

RE: Chronic Yeast Infection Due to Water Supply

I could never find anything on it either. And it seems as though women who grow up in certain areas are immune to it.

But I went to visit my friend outside the Groton CT Naval Base. I immediately got an infection-- I mean within two days. I asked him, "do you have hard water?" He admitted he had very hard well water. When I explained to him that I got a yeast infection, he questioned me immediately. His ex-fiancee suffered the same thing while living in his house. It got to the point where she moved back to Montana and refused to live there anymore. My friend actually thought her infections were his fault, even though they used protection with each other. I visited him several times over the next few years and each time, I used bottled water.

His ex-wife and daughter who grew up in the area had no problems, but I think it is the same as Americans going to Mexico and not being able to drink the water.

RE: Chronic Yeast Infection Due to Water Supply

I am honestly still trying to wrap my head around this. I am also anxious to know if your conclusion finds any support with your doctor. I have not searched recently but as I pointed out in my last post I could find nothing even closely related. I am especially concerned as I have my own issues in this regard. I get rather frustrated truth be told. The only comfort I get sometimes is that I am not alone.

RE: Chronic Yeast Infection Due to Water Supply

Were you using hard water at the previous location? If it wasn't filtered and was hard water it could possibly lead to candida growth.
