Skin tags

Are skin tags, small colorless growths, a precursor of skin cancer? I know that when moles change color, change shape, or bleed these are the warning signs of skin cancer. However, I am unsure about skin tags.

Every few months or so, I find a new, small piece of skin growing. They are never big, just annoying. They are mostly on my shoulder, neck, and upper chest. This is the area where I had 1st degree sunburns for several summers as a child. I did not know if I should be more watchful of them. Usually, I can just pull them off. They never hurt, never bleed. They are just annoying.

Are they because of old age instead?
