Seeking All Natural Relief for Acid Reflux

My father has horrible acid reflux.
It pains me to see him this way, and I'd like to help if I can. I am seeking anyone that has any knowledge on all natural methods that relieve acid reflux.
I read on one post that has since been closed a while back that licorice helps, I will look into that.
Most people say milk is terrible, but I had horrible acid reflux both times I was pregnant and it really helped me.
The other things that helped me during that time was sweet black tea and saltine crackers. I wouldn't think sweet black tea would help, either.
Just curious as to more natural things that have helped others.

Chewing Gum - people with gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD) symptoms experienced heartburn relief when they chewed a piece of sugar-free gum for 30 minutes after a meal.

Apple Cider Vinegar is a popular one. Just a teaspoon in a glass of water in the morning, and one at night an hour after your last meal. Supposedly this works. I'm not so sure myself as I wouldn't be comfortable consuming an acid to get rid of another acid. Milk also can help break down the burning pains.
