Newly Diagnosed, Long Time Sufferer

I was just recently diagnosed with IBS. Although, I've had these symptoms most of my life. I've been reading up that most often women are affected? I have to have a colonoscopy at the end of the month and I'm really dreading that. Glad to see a place of support and looking forward to reading all the tips and tricks to manage life with IBS.

I was also recently diagnosed with IBS. I hate it. It's just awful, I have started to change my diet now and that seems to of helped me. I have been for a colonoscopy last month & even though its very unpleasant its better to have one, just to be on the safe side.

RE: Newly Diagnosed, Long Time Sufferer

I have to have a colonoscopy as well. I'm not sure what I have yet, only that my doctor found microscopic blood in my stool. Is this, and awful side/stomach pain consistent with IBS? I'm just praying it's not something worse!
