Yeah, but spicy food leads to loose motions with cramps.



I didn't mention spicy foods. I have found potatoes to be good for stool hardening. I personnally don't eat bread because it inflames my gut, making it counter-productive for stool hardening. Cheese, meat and fish are also good for hardening the stool.

Maybe you would be better getting your magnesium from food rather than supplements. In fact, lack of magnesium may not be the problem, as it's very difficult to have a deficit of the nutrient. On the subject of stool hardening, you could add eggs to Shaun's list of stool hardening foods. Don't fry them though, as that may cancel out the benefits. Too much fried food can actually loosen stools for some people.
