Tension Headaches And Sleep

(06-21-2012 01:23 PM)allie Wrote:  I usually suffer from migraines, but sometimes I get bad tension headaches from sleeping "too hard." Does anyone know what I mean? When your brows furrow and you're sleeping really intently, or when you sleep too long, you can actually wake up with a splitting headache. What should I do to prevent sleeping too hard?

I would suggest you to learn to medidate from a trained and experienced individual. Meditation helps calm your mind and helps . practice meditation can be a good solution..

Hi Allie,
I will advice you to share your problems with your friends and family members and accept the things you cannot change. Remember to laugh, avoid alcohol, smoking and caffeine and have proper sleep daily. Engage in regular workouts and eat a well balanced diet meal plan.

RE: Tension Headaches And Sleep

Dull a tension headache by massaging a few drops of peppermint essential oil (Mentha piperita) into your temples. Peppermint works as well as 1,000 mg of acetaminophen, the main ingredient in aspirin, according to one German study. Herb experts don't know exactly how it works, but the peppermint appears to prevent your body from sending pain signals to your central nervous system.

RE: Tension Headaches And Sleep

I get this as well, whenever I sleep too long, I'd wake up with a headache. The best thing that has always helped me would be drinking lots of fluids. Water can help me hydrate and fuel my body. Aside from that, fruits rich in water like apples and watermelons can also help. I just eat them as it is, take a little rest and a little while later, my headache would be gone. I don't know if they have headache-relieving properties, but they sure work for me.

But I'll try the suggestions on this thread as well. It always makes me unproductive whenever I have headaches which isn't a good thing really. So anything that can help me, or the people I love, is greatly appreciated.

‚ÄčNot sure about the caffeine part. As I know, it can raise the level of blood pressure. I'm currently suffering from hypertension and coffee was on of the first things to get banned by my doctor.
