Subconsciously remembering something during your sleep

I find it bothersome to remember something that's bothering me out of the blue while I sleep. I mean, I'm already sleeping but I get this sudden jolt that something is wrong and I suddenly wakes up in the middle of the night rendering me unable to sleep for the next 3hours, just thinking about it during those time to exhaustion, till I'm sleepy again.

It really disrupts my good night sleep having to wake up surprised and bothered. I'm sleeping peacefully then something kicks in out of the blue! This is happening more frequently and I noticed that if I count how many hours I sleep at night due to this.. I think I can only sleep 3hours every day all in all.

I don't know but maybe i ought to take medications?

I don't think medications are exactly the right solution because they may or may not resolve the issue. If your sub-conscious is trying to get your attention, maybe there's more of a deep-seated issue that you should be handling. Things that are really heavy on our mind tend to bother us no matter what state we're in, they just manifest in a different way -- sometimes easy to comprehend in your case, other times symbolically. Keeping a dream journal may help in those situations. To answer your question though, no, don't take medications -- get to the bottom of what's wrong and mentally prepare yourself while you're awake for a good night's sleep.

RE: Subconsciously remembering something during your sleep

I have this same issue. Also, if I get up to use the bathroom or get a drink of water too often my mind engages and won't shut down again.

I have found that keeping a journal next to my bed helps somewhat. It doesn't stop me from waking up, but it does assist me in not dwelling on whatever my sudden thought is. I write it down so I can focus in it in the morning and go back to sleep.

RE: Subconsciously remembering something during your sleep

I have had this happen to me all the time. The worst is when I sleep and see places and the next day I will feel like I have been there before. I have also seen places and then see them in movies at a later date.
