Unsure if this is acid reflux or not...

I will occasionally get an acidic feeling in my throat that won't go away. It also tends to make me burp a lot. So far the only thing that has helped with it is the liquid Mylanta. It doesn't happen all that often, but it did happen a lot while I was pregnant.

If the reflux does not go away, it is a good reason to go to an gastroenterologist and get checked out. It is acid reflux but knowing the cause is important. Getting checked out means avoiding the chances of significantly damaging your esophagus over time.

But if it rarely ever happens, then is it really that big of a problem? I don't really know much about this so I'm trying to gain more information here before I take any action. I really don't get it very often at all, but maybe going to a doctor would be kind of like a preventative measure?

Hopefully by now the condition has cleared up or you have seen your doctor. But if you get it again, try some Apple Cider vinegar mixed with water. I have GERD, and I take medication. Sometimes I have a bit of nausea where I don't want to take another pill, so I take the vinegar mixture and it stops it. Good luck,

Its possible that this could GERD, but only a doctor can determine this. If its not happening all the time then it wouldn't be anything to worry too much about. Now if it does start to happen more often and frequently, it might be time to see a doctor about the problem. Don't take it lightly, GERD can cause more serious complications if not properly treated, so it is important not to ignore the symptoms if they become more frequent and worsen. A doctor can prescribe medication that can get the GERD under control, and keep it from developing in to something worse.

Pregnancy and acid reflux go hand in hand. I remember my sister was pregnant and she was popping Tums left and right. I think after pregnancy you can be left with some residual problems. If you're worried though and want more definitive answers check with a G.I. doctor to find out the cause.
