I am constantly looking for more information on my condition, along with new treatments. I also keep a list of sites to avoid!
Why? Because so many have obvious biases, or the information is not science based, but written for the consumer. The information is more "fluff" than anything else.
The National Institutes of Health usually has some good information about studies, while the Mayo Clinic site is very much "information lite".
