Does Yogurt work for yeast infections?

I got a lot of yeast infections when I was pregnant and preferred to use something natural instead of the standard OTC medicines. Someone suggested applying yogurt to the area, but does that really work?

RE: Does Yogurt work for yeast infections?

Are you really sure that applying food products to private areas sounds like a good idea? These sorts of treatments are primitive to say the least. Before doing anything of the sort, have a search and see if you can see it on any medical treatment site. Odds are that you won't because it is not a good idea.

RE: Does Yogurt work for yeast infections?

I have never heard of applying yogurt topically to treat a yeast infection, but I have heard that eating yogurt on a regular basis can help prevent yeast infections. The bacteria that are naturally present in the yogurt are supposed to be helpful in preventing the bacteria that cause yeast infections. I am not so sure that it would do a lot of good to apply yogurt topically, but it would be something worth talking to your doctor about.
