IBS pain locations

Hello, can someone tell me if IBS pain occurs all over the intestines or only in one area? My pain is always in the same location on the right side so I am not sure it is from IBS or not.

People get pain from IBS all over the place. Some people get it in one area and other people feel it in different areas. It depends a lot on the person. I don't think you could rule out the condition based on the location.

When I feel cramping pain it is always on the side opposite my appendix or at the rectum. I agree that location of the pain in the bowel probably doesn't tell you whether it is or isn't IBS.

Is the pain actually when you need to go to the bathroom, like from constipation, or do you just have a pain in your side? You should really talk to your doctor because it's possible there's something else going on, such as with your liver or kidney that could be causing isolated pain.

Any abdominal pain should be investigated by your doctor. The problem is, there are so many vital organs and tissues in a small space, so the source of the pain needs to be isolated, diagnosed and then treated. It may be something trivial, or it may not, but only your doctor can tell you that.
