pain from taking BP

hello, I just got my BP monitor. I been using it every 2 hours. Now my arm is so sore. I tried switching arms but the numbers was all different. How do you make the pain lower for using the machine?

RE: pain from taking BP

Is there any reason why you are using the machine so much? You should not have to take the blood pressure every two hours. I doubt that your doctor suggested that. If you are taking every 2 hours you could be taking it 7 or 8 times each day. That would definitely start to hurt.

RE: pain from taking BP

I am taking it because the numbers are all different. My BP is high or low sometimes. I want to get the worst number. What do you do to make the pain less? I tried untightening the cuff. The numbers changed again. That don't work.

RE: pain from taking BP

To reduce the pain I only take my blood pressure twice per day. I take it in the late morning and evening. Your blood pressure will vary all day. The key is that it is generally lower with your medications or your diet changes. You don't want to worry too much about the exact numbers all day. You can't do anything directly about them anyway.
